Handmade Christmas Stockings

Christmas traditions for many families include handmade Christmas stockings. Whether they are simple or elaborate, there are handmade stockings to fit every taste and style. Waking up on Christmas morning to see what is filling their stockings is a tradition that thrills children in many countries around the world.

Traditional treats often include oranges or tangerines, nuts and chocolates. Mints are another common delight. Of course, you can add anything you like including herbal tea, microwave popcorn, granola bars, cough drops and gum for adults and cookies, fruit snacks and cupcakes for kids.

Children’s toys and books make good stocking stuffers. Depending on the age of the child you can include playdough, small books, crayons or markers, small games such as cards, balls and other small toys, stuffed animals and even toddler size blankies.

Teens might enjoy art supplies, makeup, skin care items such as lotion, batteries, playing cards, CDs or gift cards for music downloads, hats, and other little items.

Adults can enjoy little gifts such as coffee mugs, flavored coffees and teas, hand lotion, sewing kits, travel size toiletries, gift cards, fun office supplies like colored pens and sticky notes, stamps, and other simple items.

Whatever you choose to fill it with, Christmas will be a lot more fun with beautiful handmade Christmas stockings hanging on your mantel or wall. You might also want to get cute stocking holders to match your stockings.
